Greenville County Ordinance 5574a requires any person or company to obtain a Waste Tire Hauler Permit for anyone who transports 15 or more waste tires at once within the County of Greenville. The applicant must also have a South Carolina Waste Tire Manifest required by the South Carolina Code of Regulations §61-107.3 for the movement.
To obtain a permit:
Appear in person at GCSO Central Annex, located at 1200 Pendleton Stree, Greenville, SC 29611.
Applicants are required to present a valid South Carolina Driver’s License or South Carolina Identification card and a valid vehicle registration for the vehicle transporting the waste tires.
Applicants must have a valid SCDHEC Waste Tire Hauler Certificate.
Permits will be issued Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., (Closed daily 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.). No appointment is needed. The office will be closed during county holidays.
Permits are valid for one year, and there is a $100.00 charge annually from the date of original issuance, but there is a $15.00 fee for the replacement of a lost permit.
