Marcus Davenport
CHIEF DEPUTY
Chief Deputy Marcus Davenport’s distinguished career in Law Enforcement began in 1995 when he became a Uniform Patrol Deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Davenport is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He has proudly served 26 years with the Sheriff’s Office and as the Chief Deputy since 2017. Chief Deputy Davenport has also held the positions of Master Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major while serving in Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to his current duties as Chief Deputy, he oversees the Office of the Sheriff and is also the Chief Financial Officer for the Sheriff’s Office. The Office of the Sheriff focuses on Community Outreach and Engagement.
Outside of the Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Davenport enjoys volunteering for the Greenville Homeless Alliance and serves on the Inaugural Advisory Council at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Greenville.
