Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

A FOIA request is a process of officially requesting documents from the sheriff’s office.  The obligations and limitations of these requests are explained in the South Carolina Code of Laws – Title 30, Chapter 4.  The Public Official’s Guide to Compliance with South Carolina’s Freedom of Information Act is a guide published by the South Carolina Press Association that offers useful information for understanding these laws.
